Double Standard?

Of course, there is an obvious double standard going on with regard to the whole Muslim cartoon controvery. For example, the British paper the Independent excuses its own publication of vile anti-Semitic cartoons that connect Israeli Prime Minister Sharon with the ancient anti-Semitic blood libel of Jews drinking the blood of Christian children (in this case Palestinian children), while at the same time, the paper criticizes the publication of the "offensive" Muslim cartoons. And, of course, vile anti-Semitic cartoons are the daily staple of the Arab press.

All this reminds me of that old Tom Lehrer satiric song lyric:

"Oh, the Protestants hate the Catholics,
And the Catholics hate the Protestants,
And the Hindus hate the Moslems,
And everyone hates the Jews."
